Challenging the Lie

AUGUST 13

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.” – 1 JOHN 1:6

Overcomers are learning to bridge the gap between what they SAY they believe and how they really LIVE. The one that overcomes is constantly challenging the lie of the enemy and demonstrating the preeminence of Christ over all things. When every lie is destroyed then the dragon is defeated, for it cannot control what it cannot deceive.

Most of what we see and hear is an illusion. It is not the Truth, but a lie, a distortion. Our eyes and our ears cannot be trusted. We must have heavenly vision and heavenly hearing.

Amen to this! As children of God we must evade from sinning. No more lying, backbiting, gossiping and other more. Let’s always put God’s Word in our heart because it is our spiritual shield against evil things. Let’s always be on the guard, be watchful. Praise the Lord!

You know, Chip, I think this is one of the most important things you have written regarding the enemy and our warfare against the powers of darkness. THANK you – again! One of Satan’s tools is using the mouths and actions of people to deceive and to lie. Today it is perfectly normal and accepted that “people lie”. If they lie to protect themselves, they will lie to deceive others…..even if they don’t realize that Satan is using them for that very purpose. TV is one BAG of lies and deceit! Our associates we work with……but how many of us LISTEN to what PEOPLE think and adapt our lives to THEIR opinions rather than what God thinks and His Words of Truth! We are what we eat. The food we eat is what our bodies become. The food we feed our spirits is what we will become spiritually. What we see and hear we MUST test it, and if it will harm us, discard it! What comes from OUR mouths comes from our heart. If our heart is evil, self and WORLD-centered, our words and deeds will be. If our heart is good and CHRIST-centered, our words and deeds will be. A true Christian will not lie or deceive, but those of the world have no ethic-values, and will lie and deceive. We MUST have on our girdle of Truth and breastplate of righteousness at all times…..and carry in our hearts, minds and tongues the Word of God. Jesus defeated Satan’s lies and deceit with the WORD of God…..if HE needed to do that, then how much more will WE need to defeat Satan with the Word.

I was reading “Church I the Wilderness” last week. There was a section on “illusions” and becoming disillusioned” with organized religion.
I went to an international Modeling school that had been one of the first schools that used live models to model clothing. Up until then the fashion models relied on artist sketches or drawings. Before photography people relied on the artist to paint their portrait.
When I walked into the agency, I saw all these beautiful and handsome people plastered all over the wall. ….then I met them…what a shock!!

Homely, plain, facial scars and blemishes, bad teeth, sloppy in general…these were Models!! I thought they were supposed to be perfect!! I was “dis-illusioned”. I was taught there that all fashion modeling is an “illusion”. Fake…lies…fabricated pictures…make-up, camers, lights, all kinds of “tricks” to cause you to be pictured as something you were not!
That’s how I have come to see Organized Religion as well. A facade…tricks with lights and cameras. With enough “tricks” anything can be made to look good…
    All pretense.
I left modeling, but I never forgot the lesson about “illusions”= deception. The Lord has used this illustration to open my eyes to deception in the world as well as in the church… many christians are content to live in whatever “illusion” they are most comfortable with whether it be Truth or not.
It’s like the old addage, “Don’t confuse me with facts; my mind is already made up!
May the Lord show the Overcomers how to help them without being pulled in with them.

      Brenda,
AMEN!,to your comment, what a great metafor you describe. This is the simular vision the Lord gave me before I walked out of the man made church I was attending.Everything seemed so fake and built on sand.I do desperately miss some of the people though.
Why do elder’s,deacons and those that have been in the system for year’s not see the falsehood in it all is my question and concern for those left behind. When I explain my heart to those that ask why I left it all behind and hav’nt looked back, they don’t understand and think I’m disobeying God for leaving. The only thing I know is that I prayed for several year’s for my eye’s and ear’s to be opened to truth,His Truth,The Lord then answered my request. It’s very lonely coming out,but I would never go back without drastic change in the system.I don’t see that happening.Have a blessed and productive day as you follow Truth.

Christ is All we need He says come to me and learn from me, through His Spirit. Trust in the Lord with All your heart and lean not on your own understanding

Eph 5:5 For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any
inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Col 3:5 ¶ Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and
covetousness, which is idolatry; Col 3:6 for which things’ sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience:
Heb 3:11 As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God:
Heb 3:13 but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called To-day; lest anyone of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin: Chip it looks like wrath is still waiting for the Christain who refuses to repent or refuses to believe Gods power to change one’s life out of sin. Todays believers are so convinced they can live with sin and a holy pure Jesus. They believe they can have both their pleasure in sin and a holy righteous God. I believe this is one of the reasons why God is moving so many people out of todays churches because the churches are allowing so many worldly sinful things in todays Organized churches. I believe that through the deceitfulness of sin is why in these last days there is going to be such a great falling. One last thing we are not safe from falling because we left the organized church. We will only be safe if we seek, follow, and obey Jesus Christ and his word to the end of this life which will be very very soon thank God. He will come like in a blink of eye or when we least expect it like a theft at night. I pray daily for my self my family and the church body of Jesus Christ that we be ready for his return. Thanks for letting me share on your site.

Mike, my question for everyone who has commented is: If we can see the faults and weaknesses of Organized Religion can we equally see our own? Just yesterday, the Choir Director of my old Church I associated with “mistakenly” sent me an E-mail update for Choir rehearsal for which she apologized. Do we not ALSO routinely IGNORE those who we “mistakenly believe” do not want to hear us? If our testimony in Jesus Christ is to mean anything; then we need to stop acting like we’ve been taught by them, and start acting like we have been taught BY HIM! (Read that again until it sinks in.) If the Churches are compromised, then are we ALLOWING our testimony to be as well, even if we have come out of that system? Or have we REALLY come out at all? I must do some re-evaluations, but I refuse to act like they did! May we all. Timothy

And another AMEN!! The word “overcomer” made me think of something I learned recently: EL Shaddai does mean God all powerful, but it also means “overcomer”, so this is exactly right. We have the Overcomer in us and all glory and credit goes to Him for our won battles or being able to “see” the Truth. He will cause us to will and t do His good pleasure. (paraphrase)

Pray for the Church in America to be ready for persecution. God will strengthen us for victory! And may we NEVER forget that HE IS IN CONTROL – NOT US – OR THE ENEMY!

Here it is, we are not robots. The quality of our relationship is that we were given the freedom to choose Love, to choose Righteousness, to choose Jesus Christ. Those who choose the lie do so because they are still controlled by the old, sinful flesh nature. And they also do not see the severity of being a liar, and the consequences it may hold.

    God is holy!

This whole thing of following Jesus is not a game! He said, that He prefers for a man to be cold, rather than luke-warm. At least the cold man is honest. I rather have my wallet stolen from someone who doesn’t deny being a thief, than from someone pretending to be my friend.

    Blessings, and All 4 Jesus!
    Mario

EYES. Spiritual discernment, not material but mental.
Jesus said, thinking of the outward vision, “Having eyes, see ye not?”
    Mark viii. 18

EARS. Not organs of the so-called corporeal senses, but spiritual understanding.
Jesus said, referring to spiritual perception, “Having ears, hear ye not?”
    Mark viii. 18

Test every spirit to see what fruit they possess. If they don’t have the fruit of the Spirit, they are not of Christ. They are a wolf,a goat,a tare, etc. Those that utter lie’s will live in a lie and they have already decieved themselve’s.We all have to walk upright in truth unless we stumble.I know of very few if any people this side of heaven that hasn’t lived in a lie they have created, from thought, to mouth, to deed. This is how we test our own selve’s to see whom we possess.
