What Does God Want?
“I am the Way.”
JOHN 14:6

What is God after? What does He seek from us? What does He want? First and foremost, He desires a people who will be conformed to the image of His Son, that they may demonstrate the preeminence of Christ in all things. But how does He gain such a people for Himself? The first step is to reveal His Son to us. This is the narrow gate. We cannot begin to walk the narrow path until we have entered the narrow gate.

Upon entering the narrow gate He begins to change us from the inside out so that it is Christ expressing Himself through us. “Not I, but Christ.” This is the narrow path. This narrow path we call discipleship. It leads us somewhere. A path is not for standing still. It has a destination. Where does the path lead? What is the End? Christ as All in All. That is the End. All things work together according to this supreme purpose, His Purpose.

    Chip,
It’s very hard walking with Christ and seeking to comform to His image in today’s world.People look at us”The Church”as self righteous, weak, brainwashed, confused, etc. When we get out of the way and allow God to work through us,it’s even worse,it seems. The fact of the matter is that most of the church is week and is not very educated on what God’s word really means. When trying to explain and teach the true gospel of Christ, the world does not want to hear it,they say with argument, that Jesus is not the only way to God and to heaven.I’m in this situation myself with my son whom was brought up in the faith, saved and baptized at 11 yrs.,but now at 22 yrs. he denies the faith and Christ.I’m wondering how this could happen?,unless he really was not saved at 11 yrs.,he just did what everybody else did. This is why there are so many false conversions in the church, especially with children.

Sherry, even tho the situation with your son is very difficult, you can leave it to Jesus who loves him even more than you do. Jesus is trustworthy. Entrust him to Him.

      Sherry,
First of all, I believe that we cannot conform to the image of Christ. Instead, we are being conformed. All we must do is DAILY surrender, and then the Holy Spirit will do His perfect work in and through us.
One problem I have noticed is that we never, in a correct, Biblical manner, learn about our enemy and the battles (yes, plural) we are in. People either lift the devil unto a place where he is almost equal with God, or they belittle his power and influence, which renders them unprotected. As always, balance is the key! The first battle is between the spirit and the flesh. Just because we have become Christians doesn’t mean we have resigned from humanity.
” For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, so that you cannot do the right thing you want to do.”(Gal.5) Then there are the numerous Scriptures clearly showing and WARNING! us that satan is real, that he is powerful and full of wisdom, and that we must protect ourselves. (Ezekiel 28; Rev.12;Eph.6) Even the Apostle Paul was hindered by the devil.
“Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, but Satan hindered us.” (1Thes.2) In Rev. 12 we read that the devil has come to “make war with those who have the testimony of Jesus Christ”. Yes, satan is powerful, but God is in charge. Therefore, with confidence we say that, “greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world! The most powerful weapon is to, by faith, stand firm on Jesus and God’s Word! Pray that the Lord will take the veil from your son’s eyes, and then believe that He will do it in HIS time! This is His promise to us, that He will do whatever we ask in His Name according to His will. Is it His will that your son walks with Him? You bet it is!

Blessings to you and your house!
      All 4 Jesus!

        Mario,
Thank you for reminding me who I am in Christ. My weakness is coming forth in my unbelief.”Lord forgive me for my unbelief”!I for one do not deminish the power of Satan, but I have to realize he is a defeated foe.”No greater power than Christ in me”.Thank you Lord for my tear’s of hope streaming down my face.Mario my prayer for my son everyday is rebuking Satan away from my household and praying God will give my son ears to hear and eyes to see His truth and to see Christ for who He is and what He came to do.Thank you for listening to my burden.Thank you again for your words of encouragement, they have taken root in my soul.

    Hello brother,
I always appreciate your utterance, because it brings direction and focus! This statement that “…He desires a people who will be conformed to the image of His Son, that they may demonstrate the preeminence of Christ in all things.” I don’t think I ever put our conformity to the image of His Son, with the preeminence of Christ in all things together! It is all about Him, even the consummation of what He is doing in us for the display of Himself! My salvation is His preeminence!
